Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Jonathan Winbush I'm a multi-award-winning artist, I've been doing motion graphics professionally since 2006 starting my career in the heart of Hollywood, California where I've been fortunate enough to work with studios like Happy Madison, Marvel, Warner Bros, Netflix and so many more. Some of my favorite projects I've got to work on are Power Rangers, Iron Man, My Little Pony, and Transformers to name a few.
What’s your favorite item on your desk?
Funny enough I have 2. No lie my Hexcal Studio and my Asus Rog Ally.
What books, blogs, or podcasts recently caught your attention?
I usually like to listen to comedians and game journalist, so 2 podcast I listen to weekly are Xbox Unlocked by IGN and Straight From The Hart by Kevin Hart.
Any tips for other makers who want to improve their workspaces?
A clean desk goes a very long way mentally. If you’re surrounded by clucker that chaos and often through you off your game so do what you can to keep everything clean and clear.
What does your typical day look like?
My day to day various when it comes to client work but the things that are consistent are working out, hiking with my dog, and creating tutorials for YouTube.
When did you start to work on your desk setup?
When I left Warner Brothers about 10 years ago now to work for myself since I’ve always worked from my home office that’s when I started to slowly create the type of workspace I have today.
What's your desk setup aesthetics?
Since I did a DIY desk and am using a counter top from Ikea on motorized legs I don’t have a solid theme though maybe if the future I could see going clean and making it all black. I’m practically there now only thing thats off is my woodgrain desktop.
What niche interest are you up to recently?
Just mainly experimenting with the new UEFN to create game levels using Fortnite tech on the back end.
Your advice for beginners getting into Desk Setup.
Since this is your workspace you’ll more than likely spend alot of time there so don’t rush into buying a bunch of items at once just slowly build your perfect space based on your needs overtime. Its easy to buy a ton of stuff you might think would be cool but that often can just turn into clutter so take your time and make a functional workspace.
